If you forget it,
Then just
forget about it.
Forget the
tears & the scars.
Struggle to
fit in. To get along.
A timid
babe to an angry teenager.
The
unappeasable task to belong.
A need to
rebel.
Just forget
about it.
Forget the
incessant strife.
Restrain
your heart with logic.
Trade your
passion with your degrees.
Discarding
your wonderful place of magic,
Being
practical.
Just forget
about it.
Forget the
incessant ladder of success.
The ravenous
quest to be more.
The more
you make, the more you need
The high of
“high-profile” tags.
Frequent
flyer miles
Tightening around your ankles.
Your
personal story from riches to rags.
Just forget
about it.
The
badgering of “settling down.”
Having
countless possessions
A car,
spouse, kids & endless mortgage
Just forget
about it.
Forget the creeping footsteps of old age,
aching joints & tired heart.
The
machinery all rusted, about to fall apart.
You await
death, for she is an angel
Who will put
an end to this misery.
Just forget
about it.
Forget
about living in the elusive tomorrow
Living life
as if it were a test
Assessing and
grading everything.
Putting off
fun for tomorrow.
Just forget
about it
Take in the
smells. Just Breathe.
Be the perfect
imperfect you,
a nomad in
this journey called life.
Find your
joy and hold onto it.
Give it
your best, and then,
Just forget about the rest!
